Annelies van Dommelen studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the New York Graduate School of Figurative Art, and privately with many different artists. She also attended the Vermont Studio Center and Penland for month long residencies. She has received two fellowship grants from the New Jersey Council on the Arts, as well as the Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Grant in 1995.
During her career, she has exhibited both in the United States and in Europe,in both juried and invited shows with awards following. Her works can be seen in person in her permanent exhibition space at Old English Pine located in Lambertville, New Jersey.
